EF Sung Masses — Vigil of Christmas (Dec. 24) & Christmas Day (Dec. 25)

The wait is over. It was rather long, but all worth it. Christmas is just four days away from now, and we’d like you to celebrate this great feast with us.

The Cebuano Summorum Pontificum Society invites all Roman Catholics to its Extraordinary Form Sung Masses (Missæ cantatæ) for the Vigil of Christmas on December 24, 2017, and the Solemnity of the Nativity of the Lord (Christmas) on December 25, 2017.

Both Masses will be at 4 p.m. at the Adoration Chapel of the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish (Capitol Parish) Church along N. Escario Street, Cebu City.

Both Masses will be sung and offered by Fr. Clement Covacho, novice master of the Community of Saint John and former Benedictine monk.  The Schola Gregoriana of Cebu will be assisting in music.

Also join us in praying the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary at 3:15 p.m. After the Rosary on Sunday, we shall be singing the Office of None (Mid-Afternoon Prayer) in the Ordinary Form.

On Christmas Day, the Rosary will begin at 3:30 p.m. We shall be skipping the Office of None in favor of Solemn Sung Vespers (Sung Evening Prayer), which we shall sing after the Mass.  So, on Christmas Day, stick around after Mass for the public celebration of the Church’s official evening prayer for Christmas Day.

Remember to prepare yourself to receive our Lord in Holy Communion by going to confession beforehand.

We have prepared guides containing both the Latin texts and their English translations so you can follow along with the prayers.

Bring your friends and family. See you on Sunday and on Christmas Day.
