Extraordinary Form Sung Mass, 19th Sunday After Pentecost (Oct. 15, 2017)

In the Extraordinary Form liturgical calendar, the 19th Sunday After Pentecost falls on Sunday, October 15, 2017.  In celebration of this day, the Cebuano Summorum Pontificum Society invites you to an Extraordinary Form Missa cantata (sung Mass) at 4 p.m. at the Adoration Chapel of the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish Church (Capitol Parish) along N. Escario Street, Cebu City.

The Holy Sacrifice will be sung by Fr. Clement Covacho, novice master of the Community of Saint John and former Benedictine monk. He will be assisted in music by the Schola Gregoriana of Cebu.

We invite you to come early so you can join us in praying the Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary (in Latin) at 3:15 p.m.  Of all the Roman Catholic Church’s approved devotional prayers, the Holy Rosary holds a preeminent place and is much esteemed by numerous saints and popes.

After the Rosary, we shall be chanting (also in Latin) the Office of None (Mid-Afternoon Prayer) of the Liturgy of the Hours (a.k.a. the Divine Office or Breviary) in the Ordinary Form.  The Divine Office is the Church’s official liturgical prayer for marking time during the day and for sanctifying each day throughout the liturgical year. It is of superior value and efficacy compared to devotional, private, and non-liturgical prayers.

Prepare to receive our Lord in Holy Communion by going to Confession beforehand.

Invite your family and friends. Spread the word.  See you on Sunday.
