The Cebuano Summorum Pontificum Society invites all Roman Catholics to our Extraordinary Form Sung Mass (Traditional Latin Mass) of the Eighteenth Sunday After Pentecost this Sunday, October 8, 2017. The Holy Sacrifice will be offered at 4:00 p.m. at the Adoration Chapel of the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish Church (Capitol Parish) along N. Escario Street, Cebu City.
Fr. Clement Covacho, novice master of the Community of Saint John and former Benedictine monk of Abbaye du Barroux (Abbey of Le Barroux) in France, will be singing the Liturgy and will be assisted by the Schola Gregoriana of Cebu.
Please come early so you can join the Society in saying the Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary at 3:15 p.m. The Rosary is a devotional prayer that holds the highest esteem among other devotional prayers.
After the Rosary, the Society will pray None (Mid-afternoon Prayer) of the Divine Office in the Ordinary Form also in Latin. The Divine Office (a.k.a. Liturgy of the Hours) is liturgical prayer and takes precedence — in value, efficacy, and dignity — over devotional prayers (such as the Rosary) and other private prayers because the Liturgy is the prayer of our Lord Himself which he put into the mouth of the Church, His Bride.
Be ready to receive the Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ in Holy Communion by ensuring that you are in a state of grace when you assist at Holy Mass. Go to Confession beforehand.
See you all this Sunday.
